@Izzie,
six o'clock in the evening (I guess that is what 6 bells means) means the water is nice and warm and the sun is low in the sky - no worries bout the sunburn Izzie. Perfect time of day to skinny dip.

Lord I need to go to the beach something fierce.

I didn't tell you all that I missed my girls trip to the beach again this year. Sad Very disappointing. Working sucks sometimes. One of my co-workers was in a serious car accident - the week I was supposed to go - I had to cover for her - which I was glad to do - but so sad to miss my beach trip!

@mismi,
Hey Mis - oh, I'm sorry you missed your beach trip - you did a real good thing stepping up for your friend and she will remember your kindness. I do hope she is recovering.

I truly do believe that what goes, comes around - in whichever form, Karma and all that (bit like a korma... ya know)... so don't worry, you're time will come and you'll have the best vacation fer sure girlie. That's a pleasure no-one can take from you.

I have been uber-undisciplined, and less measured!!!... kinda good that...tonight and surely must go to zzzzzz now as it's a 6.30am start and I'm running out of hours (hence my need for 36 in a day)! Take care Mis - I know you'll be busy over the weekend and I think you may know what I'm up to so if we don't speak before, I'll catch you on the far side of Monday. Love you heaps Mis - best of British for the b/ball games over the weekend - and try and get your nap on Sunday. ((((((you, love)))))xxxx

@Roberta,
Thanks goil Very Happy

heh - it didn't last long.......

so darn poorly tonight - dayum!

anyhoo, nem'mind - had new moulds made for my toots - bless that head orthotist Shocked (that doesn't quite sound right) - well, the chief toot mould-maker - waaay painful and talk about breaking into a sweat when they push the feet down into the ... errrr.... pink fluffy stuff, toot by little toot - ha, could see my MTheads dunting the mould underneath when they lifted my feet out - nope, not supposed to be able to see the tarsal heads sticking out but it showed how i'm kinda walking on marbles. They were ever so ever so nice to me - lovely folk.

Well, long and short, with lupus, rigid moulds won't work too well (as discovered with previous shoooz) as the connective tissue alters its crankiness at an alarming rate, so rigid 'aint gonna happen - apparently there's only about 5 of us who have RA and lupus, and i'm the most surgically challenged with 6 lots down Razz So they're gonna make me some very very very very soft shoes with lots of support of my big toot on the right which is hmmmmmm, numbing, twisting and a little grumpy - lots of gel bits within medium density mould stuff and some special gel kinda sox to wear in "normal" shooz once in a while. Gel shooz - how cool is that!!!!!!!

Have very little ankle movement so they can't turn my feet out from my instep but... he was so lovely (so forgiven for the pain) and did make us laugh when he said he would never ever touch his wife's feet; the Aussie lady pod doc was lovely too - recommended some hayfever meds for me. Eyes swollen, no voice (very husky), totally knackered and have.not.stopped....

and it was all going so well Arrow

Can't get warm so gonna go have a super long bath - lotsa bubbles and mebbe go to bed <yawns>

Prolly liven up after a bit of R&R.

Tomorrow is gonna be a fab day, all day. I'm completely convinced Mr. Green

Laterz ((((Crew)))) x

Have a good Sunday each and all and thank Jebus for an easy ride. As some of you may know I have been searching for the big G, without much success I must admit. Does it really exist or is it all a myth that is the fundamental question that has eluded mankind for like, ever.

Every time I think I have found the spot, even after penetrating the walls, further and closer examination fails to excite. I am therefore drawn to the inevitable conclusion that the Golden Fleece so sought by Jason and his band of Argonauts is not buried in a cave in Big Beaver, Pennsylvania.

I hope I have an easier ride finding the Golden Fleece Restaurant, 61 7th Ave S, New York.

Get well soonest Izzie (((Waves))) to all.

Those gel shoes sound interesting Izzie. I'll bet I'd like them! Like walking on...jello?

Waiting to hear about your fab day. Only thing fabulous about my day is that it looks like the end of the packing is in sight -- yay! (Oh, wait, that means there is unpacking in my future -- oh well...)

Won't be around too often after the move, so keep an eye out for me from the crow's nest. I'll try to check in from town once a week or so.

@Tai Chi,
Hey Crew

<big stretch>

((Taggggers)) – hello lovely – yes, it has been noted I am off the planet and possibly have a vacuum between the ears - but hey, I will be geltechgal Wink Hope that you’ve made a full recovery and all is good with you and the cabin boy. How does your garden grow? Do you have green fingers this year? Take care now X

((BEAgle)) – heh, your ears musta been burning – us gals were talking of you – sending you mucho love and hugs and we did a bubbles toast – you were in our thoughts ((D)) x

TCgirl - oh, so pleased you jumped aboard - your tree here is blossoming white all over - it's utterly spectacular - ooooooooh, you would love the shoes, will let you know when they arrive. I know Didge is joining you up in the Great White soon - so I hope you manage to get all the packing and everything done and can't wait to see some pics of the School House. What a huge achievement - you should be so proud of yourselves - fantastic. Take care up there and most importantly, enjoy your creation - you're both amazing at what you've done. (((((TC&MrFixIt))))

Heh Blue – ya can’t pull the wool over my eyes <did yer lose yer thong…. whaaa.....thassa Aussie sandal Cool > - good to see you too <so said Phineas Wink > didn’t meet any harpies as I navigated my way thru the Clashing Rocks – but you try getting over the Clifton Bridge without any silver crossing your palm…(talk about fleecing joanna public) PANIC… chuck a s’quid innit and… waves to the barriers, breathes in (itsa thin bridge!) and onwards and upwards! Then having got horribly lost (ask the nice policeman and four other folk Rolling Eyes ), finally, having parked in completely the wrong car park and with phones to ears, found my sis over the top of a bus, thru a mall with a big tree, ducking and diving and screechy blondes met and laughed til they cried outside Harvey Nicks. What a heap we were! So we took to a Costa, relaxed in some leather sofas with delumpshe lemon cake, hot choc and americano - and nattered, as ya do - for more than a bit!

Then had to find the hotel – ahhhaahhhhhhhha… Charlie ended up down a dead-end thanks to Tim the Tom Tom AGAIN – déjà vu of 3 years ago and had to do an AbFab yomp from the car park (she is so Patsy). I was a little more fortunate and had got the kettle on by the time she arrived. Very nice helpful folk at the hotel who lugged ma stuff as I nearly flaked out!

Had the best weekend – was pretty darn crook yesterday (sick of being sick) so had to zzzzzz for a bit more than a while and forego the celebrations in the Cocktail Bar etc but then jumped in a taxi (big and brave me) and met my sis land the flavour crew later at a fabulous little restaurant and talked (husked) the night away ‘til the early hours – great company, verra interesting folk, energised.

<giggles at the thought of folks wandering down the hills of yonder who were <ahem> a tad worse for wear (poor lost fella who couldnee find his way home) – and for goodness sake, public urinals in the middle of the beautiful square – NO NO, no doors… just… THERE, ya know! Shocked Shocked I tell ya <averts eyes> nasty! That city on a Saturday night is a leeeeetle beeeeeeet scary to say the least – coppers all over the shop and sirens neverending – saw pirates and devils and all sorts of hens! Interesting tho clicking away Wink Need to go visit there with a big burly and click the night away I reckon – would be fascinating.

Beautiful lights in the city, the churches, the cathedral, STUNNING, as we walked along by the river, super-duper hotel, big sleep and then up and out this morning as we walked along the river stopping at a little café for brunch and watched the world go by. The best of times – we always have.

Looong journey back to the moors <yawn> – the city roads were shut off due to a 10K run being held this morning so took 45 mins just to drive a couple miles around the city – but once on the motorway with a little bit of Buble – home, cuddled kitties and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz for hours.

<sigh> missed my sis as soon as we parted – ‘til next time tho – made some more memories. Love her so much.

Finally, CONGRATULATIONS to our every day heroes – massive congrats and support to Caralyn and Emily who took part in the Moon Walk in their bra’s for Breast Cancer last night thru the streets of London. So proud of them.

((Missy)) hope Bball was good this weekend and the boyz are all well and happy. Been thinking of you girlie - love you much x

(((((((Crew)))))))))

Hoping that one and all have had a great weekend and thinking of those near and far - be safe, be well

@Izzie,
Sounds like a lovely weekend! Busy you were! Take care and rest up you. ((Izzie)) Love you too girly.

Baseball - well - lost the tournament game - our first and were eliminated. Totally bites to have to be sweet and gracious when you just wanted to win. Smile Good for me though...makes you stronger to do what you don't want to do huh?

G baby has his game Tuesday night and we are hoping for a better outcome for that one. We shall see.

I gotta go to Walmart. I HATE going to Walmart. I would rather not eat. But my kids and husband don't feel the same. So off I go.

Hugs to the crew

My garden is growing apace, and the weeds need more attention than I'm giving 'em. And now it's rained.
The flowering shrubs and trees have been great this year.
We are fine, the ear is progressing but still not quite there, and this evening the cabin boy gave me a row for not being pleasant enough to her sister.
In my defence, I don't think I was unpleasant, just not terribly pleased when she came home early. Is that bad?

@McTag,
Hi everyone...hoping you all had a great weekend. It's pouring down rain here and will be for a few days. I don't mind it much except it interferes with baseball.

Izzie I hope you are doing well.....

mismi, sorry about the baseball tournament Sad That's always hard.

N. had three games yesterday. First one was his high school team...they got skunked. Our good pitching was used up and they had a great pitcher. Gotta give credit where credit is due, the kid pitched a no-hitter!
The next two games were his Babe Ruth team and we won both of those...so over all a good day Smile

Busy time of year now......can't wait for summer.

We were talking this morning around the breakfast table, my s-i-l and my wife and I, and I said something about my nephew flipping burgers, and my wife thought I said "flipping burquas", and we had a good laugh imagining him going round lifting muslim ladies' veils and saying "Coo-ee!"
