Good morning all,
And here is the weather from New York

(Insert sound of chattering AP wire machine even though no one under fifty knows what the hell that is... .)

It's cloudy again and 44°F meaning we look about like we did yesterday. Extra make-up for everybody today so we don't look dead.
It's going to rain all day with a small break in the clouds on Friday, then more rain all weekend.

(There are rumors that the citizens of a small British town near the Welsh border are considering filing an infringement of copyright if our weather continues like this.)

We are all very plumped up. It could be the remains of winter overeating or we could be completely saturated as succulents in a Southern garden.

Well, I see my time is about up here, so here's hoping you'll make a day of it no matter what.

@Joe Nation,
Thanks for the weather report. I'm here to confirm. Stinky, wet, gray, and cold.

I'm over 50, Joe, but I don't know what an AP wire machine is. Do they chatter? What have I been missing?

How the hell do you embed video?

Anyway, watch the piece above: in one newsroom, I had three of these things running right behind my desk: The AP, the US Weather Service and the UPI. Yes. They would run 24 hours a day, sometimes they would run all at the same time.

@Joe Nation,
Joe, to me embedding videos is a type of( "still born knowledge" )Gods of the Modern World thanks to Pancho)

I remember when Steve Jobs created the pc and apple in a garage using UPI, and I'm under fifty. Razz

@Joe Nation,
Wow. It's kind of comforting in a way though. I am not sure why...

We have us a little cold snap down here as well - though I am pretty sure our high will be upper 70's though. The lows are in the 50's though. Well it's cooler than it was this past weekend when it got up to 87 degrees. That was hot! But the sun is out and it is beautiful. Most of the pollen has been washed away. I had to park my car under my dogwoods and a storm came through and knocked most of the petals off. My car looks like it has polka dots on it right now!

Gbaby lost his game last night. I am always amazed at how they can play and look like they know exactly what they are doing and win 19-11 one night and then turn around and look like they have never seen a ball! It's baffling!
J has a makeup game tonight and another game tomorrow. We are going to watch the Birmingham Barons play Friday night (double A - I think - maybe triple) and then back to the ball park on Saturday. Baseball out the wazoo. Seriously.

Good to see everyone here! Loved reading through what is going on.

Take care of yourself Dutchy ((Dutchy)) You too sweet Iz ((Izzie)).

Hello Ms. Letty ((Letty)) Have a wonderful day!

At work - must start actually working. Wink

Hugs y'all.

@mismi,
I love baseball. There isn't another sport (except maybe pool) where the fans can see each situation as it unfolds. It's built so the game proceeds in frames.

You're right about young players, some games they seem to really have it - they connect with the pitch, they run the bases well or, while out in the field, they move instinctively under the pop fly, they catch and throw flawlessly.

AND in the next game, you see them wearing their glove on their head out in center field or they stand frozen at home plate while the pitcher throw three strikes right past them.

Kids.

@Joe Nation,
That is funny Joe - I don't want to send them back (okay maybe sometimes) - but I did watch in amazement as G performed a little running (dance) man while manning second base. His dad hollered at him to get his head in the game. Smile

Baseball is awesome. I haven't the brains to love the math of it - but I sure do love the sport. My favorite time of year!

@mismi,
Hi Miss Sunshine, I'm impressed you and the boys enjoying basebal so much. Baseball was an unknown game in the Country I grew up in, I was brought up with the round ball game (soccer) but for the last few years have been trying to learn a bit about baseball as your big games are on TV here. I follow the RedSox. Laughing Hope your boys continue to do well, just as Stormy's son, who is going to be a star.

Birthday? Joe? Happy Birthday, JN.

I'm buried under piles of receipts and tax forms. Thank goodness tax day isn't until 4/18 this year!

I hope y'all are doing something more pleasant than taxes.

Our weather has been nice, sunny. But cold-ish.

I have been in hospital, but am now out. Still in my pyjamas, though. Greetings to all.

@McTag,
Take care of yourself McT. Hope you are all better soon! Glad you are out and healing up. Good to see you hear!

T'was a nasty day yesterday. Tornadoes a-plenty. April in Alabama. Thankfully they don't like my little valley. Pray it stays that way. Not so good for places around us though. Sad

It didn't stop baseball today. G-baby won his game 16-6 and made some amazing plays that saved several runs from getting in. He played second base and jumped up and snagged a ball that was going over his head...there would have been at least 2 runs from it. Loved it. He is such a little all star. J had his game Thursday night and they won 15-5. He is by far the smallest on his team. I love sitting in the stands and hearing the folks from the other team talk about how he has to use every muscle in his body to be able to get the hits he does. And the little man has wheels. Fast as lightening. They just started stealing this year. So he is lead in stealing. He loves it. My sweet little S is my writer and artist. My sensitive one. I need one like me afterall (bwahahahaha). Proud of my boys.

Hugs to all - hope you are all doing well.

@mismi,
Best wishes to you McTag, get better soon young man. Wink

Lovely to hear the boys are doing so well for a 'sensitive' mismi no wonder you're feeling proud. Keeping my fingers crossed those tornadoes keep missing your valley.

The Beagle is attending a birthday dinner for his best mate today, have taken my patch off and look respectable once again. Smile

Hope you all have an enjoyable weekend.

@Dutchy,
Aw - I love me a pirate, Dutchy - but I bet you are glad to be rid of the patch. ((Dutchy)) Glad you are better sweet man.

I just cleaned my kitchen and bathrooms - they are a-MA-zing. Sparkly. All wound up now.

We went to a Mongolian Barbecue place for the Prof's birfday. It was SO yummy. He got new shorts from his dad and step mom - thank GOODness. Because he has been wearing ripped shorts to the baseball park and I have been asking him not to for weeks. Smile I am hoping he throws the favorites away now. I doubt it though...he loves holey clothes. bizarre but true.

Okey doke - going to try to settle down so I can get to sleep soon. Wink
hugs y'all
