Stephen Sondhem said in a recently-broadcast interview that the city of Vienna spends more on its opera house & productions there than the United States spends in total on subsidy for the arts.
Morning Morning Morning... lalalallallala - it's a stunner of a day - been 17C all week and have been verra busy being fabulous
No, seriously, real busy week at work and time to chillax now - the outdoors is calling me - there's some twitterpating going on - I can hear dem boids and there's a bit of nest building in the bamboo!
So wonderful seeing y'all aboard
BEAgle - not long now and you'll be ....
yay for you - don't forget to really enjoy the birthday cake and love those little g-kids with great big grampa hugs. Have the very best time - and take your camera hun Wanna hear all about it! E me some pics if you can ((((((((D)))))))))x (lotsa water)!
ahhhhh, so lovely to see ((Missy,Bethie,MaMaVerby,Rock)) yabbering away - that's verra happy
Bethie - do send love to PaPa from us and let him know we look forward to him coming back when he's settled. I saw a thread the other day where he had posted a photo and was <grinning> - lovely it was, made I smile too. x
Taggers - can you believe how gorgeous it is in the UK right now? Hope you and FiB are well and good. Ha - as for the budgeting issues... <slaps pffffffst politicians> - well, I dunno ought about Vienna - but I do know our coffers are pretty darn ack right now... millions spent on a no-fly-zone (nope, not gonna get into that here due to very strong personal views on that wishing the world to be a better place with everyone safe but I am way cynical on motivation of ALL parties involved in making these decisions...) - THEN all our boys out in the Afghan fighting the 'good' fight who don't even have the correct body armour - there's something wrong with that scenario <mumbles to oneself>
So...........anyhoo - it's personal!
OK - back into my bubble and off oot to enjoy the blessed world that I am fortunate to live in this minute. Live every minute I was told - that's the only way
Saw a teeny white feather midst some green leaves yesterday - thought of our Babbling.
Those far and near - y'all are dear <smooches>
((Blue))xox

Hey, Iz, good to see you in such high spirits. I'm lumping today. Tomorrow I will reactivate the engines.
One week of high school baseball try-outs is over...one more week to go before the cuts are made. Everyone keep fingers crossed for N. He is playing his heart out and dog tired......
It's sunny!! At this time of year I don't even care if it's cold....I'm loving the sun
Cold and lazy here. I've had a whirlwind three weeks but things are looking a little more sane moving forward. M is back in school, K is coming up today to do laundry and get $$$ for next month's expenses. Mr B and I both plan on spending time in the gym. He starts school again on Monday and I go back to the "Everything Eaten Yesterday" thread to push ahead with my weight loss plan (15 down, 20 to go).
Oh she's cute Beth! Keeping my fingers crossed too Stormy.
I am proud of you JPB! Way to stick with it! Enjoy your weekend.
We played this morning and won. J caught 2 flies and threw 2 out at first base (he played short stop and 2nd today). He also hit a great ball had a triple and the ump called him out - it was clearly wrong. The coaches on the other team even said it was a bad call. Oh well...that's just part of the game.
Take care of yourself Izzie. Rest up today...hopefully that cold won't last long. Everything's yellow down here...all the azaleas and dogwoods and cherry trees are blooming. Pollen is thick over EVERYTHING - sit down and you have a yellow butt...lots of dusting - and sneezing.
Hugs y'all
mis

What 'bout me?
Am I only "al"???
Oh, wait a minute, I am.
Let the record show (I used to watch Perry Mason) that I did the first gardening chore of the year, today on this the first day of summertime.
Hi crew, back from overseas, yes we flew across two seas and were still in the same Country. Spent a lovely time with the family, unfortunately son not present, still chasing the mighty Southern Bluefin Tuna 350 miles offshore.
Grandson turned ten and we watched his favourite football team win the opening round. Nothing but football downunder until the end of September, although Margo might disagree as she lives in a rugby State.
Beagle says hi to Izzie, have some shots from PL for you. Trust all the crew is well. Waves from downunder to one and all.
Welcme back BEAgle - hope uve brought a peace of the cake for us
I had a heavenly blissful - chocolate mousse cake - from CCD (cafe coffee day) gonna get hold of the entire cake soon
a russhhyyy hi to all -
offfff to home!!!!
Hi verbivore, pleased to be back but I worry about you and your chocolate mousse cake, remember I love your svelte figure.
I'm sticking to my seafood, brought some fresh prawns (shrimps) home which I have marinated and will thrown on the barbie tonight. Mrs. B will do the salads etc and I'll dive in the bar for a good bottle of white.
I do like them Dutchy. One of my favorite dishes is something called Bang Bang Shrimp - it is spicy and it has this dipping sauce. Unfortunately it makes my lips swell up like Angelina Jolie's - that may be a good look for sister - but for me - it is ridiculous. But boy - it sure is yummy while I am eating it.
