I saw a TV programme last night which I enjoyed very much, Matt Lucas having a go at a part in the big Les Miserables anniversary concert at the O2 Arena.
I've never seen Les Mis and this was a description of the whole life of the musical from its earliest days, with lots of fascinating interviews and backstage insights. Most interesting.
Made me wish I had gone to a production before now....the cabin boy wanted to go.
Which made me think of Baz and the crew, didn't they go to that?

Gee--you guys are lucky. I can't put on weight. And it's such a nuisance is eating. So biological don't you think? I know they try to make it sound intellectual and posh with all that taste nonsense and faked epicurian appreciation bullshit but it's just chomping and grinding and swallowing and digesting and excreting--just like cows. It's animalistic.

I was on my second helping of jam roly-poly and runny custard last night watching the Six Oclock News when I thought--"this is disgusting". I was no better that a bloody dog in a marrow-bone jelly advert and there's all those people in N.Ireland who have had no running water for a week. I would have pushed it aside contemptuously but for the fact that I need to put on weight which is why I followed the sticky-sweet mush plate licking with a few shortcake biscuits and a selection from a jumbo tin of Cadbury's Roses.

Alas--I am not one pound heavier now than I was when I was declared Fit for Purpose by a duly appointed member of H.M.'s Medical Inspectorate all those long years ago despite having chomped and ground-up and swallowed and digested and excreted such a quantity of nutrient in the interim that I shudder to think what it might look like in one pile.

And, what's worse, I cannot take a superior intellectual tone regarding food which it must be easy to do for those who put on weight easily.
