@Izzie,

he's very, very angry with me that he has to stay at school for 4 nights because i can't drive him to or back from the school bus

This seems majorly unfair.

Are there no other cars going that way?

@McTag,
Unfortunately no, we live the furthest out and to ask someone to come pick him up from the village where the school bus pick up is, they'd have to drive an additional 8+ miles... at 7.15am. That's a big ask on these roads and in this weather. He usually stays 2 nights a week at school. So, it's an additional 1 or 2 nights - except last Sunday he had to stay over as they had play rehearsals and this Sunday he has play rehearsals so needs to stay over, but he had physio last Monday so stayed at his Dad's on Monday night. His school winter concert is on Tuesday and he has the play Thurs and Fri night.

My Mom isn't happy to do the school morning runs (that's a 20 mile round trip early morning - they're in Tavi as you know) - and it's not reasonable to ask her ... and his Dad has been away a lot - but even when he's here, ... it's not his "job"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously! Getting him to do the physio on Monday was a problem even tho it's where he lives! You would not believe the errrrrrrr conversation we had earlier on about picking S up from school tonight!

<cough>

To be honest tho, with the roads as they have been, I wouldn't want him on the school bus. It's a long trip to school to N.Devon on tiny roads and in these conditions... no way do I want him on the school bus so, in a way, it's been good that's he's been staying at school - and they do have snow and had lots of it.

S-boy is just mad at me - he's tired, cranky, just had his exams, is worried about me (tho he has no idea what happened at the weekend) and... he's a teenager. Sometimes he just wants a normal mom, he's a little bored of surgeries and crahp - he doesn't complain often but his temper sometimes get's the better of him and he says some things he regrets then. It's not often I need to complain about his behaviour... but I'm tired, cranky and middle-aged Razz

He breaks up Thursday week... if I can drive before that, I only need my right foot as my car is auto, then I will have him come home and can take him to the bus and pick him up. So, it's just this week he needs to stay... and... there's diddly I can do about it no matter how angry he is or unfair he thinks it is. He has the Candlelit Service next Wed which he loves - so he'll prolly have to stay Wed night - they break up at 2pm on the Thurs.

@Izzie,
No matter how much he hates it Izzie - he will be fine. And he will be thrilled when he gets to be home with you at his break. How sweet...precious boy. I, like JPB have added the head thing to the feets thing. Thoughts continue to be with you. Big hugs to you hun. xox

How's FQ?

@mismi,
Hey Mis - thanku - yep, he'll be home with me today and I've got a roasty chook to cook and roastie spuds - his favourite - stuffing, breadsauce... and we'll watch the rugby together. He has to be back at school for 10am on Sunday for the play rehearsal so I need to ask my Mom to drive him up there.

I haven't heard from Charlie since Sunday but I think she's been on facebook a bit and getting Crimbo shopping sorted and stuff done around the house - I think A-Bear girl may be home too - she's just had a bunch of her mock exams too - she's a super intelligent kid and ... well, she has her Mom's brains Razz

Last time we spoke she was doing good - seeing folk regularly and meeting for lunches and out and aboot, going to church and Bible Study: the tiredness seems to have improved and she's got a positive mental attitude. It could be this weekend that they've gone away with friends - not sure. She's done with the cancer now and has taken down her cards and things and stored them and is going with a real positive - "I AM FREE OF THIS" and making massive positive steps towards having a good Christmas and being organised Very Happy So that's all good I believe. Love her, miss her.

I hope your tooth abcess is better (nasty nasty pain) and you managed to get to the dentist and hoping all is good at work and you're looking forward to Christmas. Hugs and love Mis... xxxxx

First of all, I'm pleased you are off of the major scary stuff - though you still need to be very careful, very careful - and into ordinary drama.

On snow, etc.. last thing you need is to slip on ice.

Sending you a snow angel -

http://vanderveenphotographers.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/snowangels.jpg

When I lived near chicago in the early fifties, we often had great masses of snow and our rental house had a side yard.
We didn't do angels that I remember (maybe that happened before I landed on Madison Street) but I might remember some outright plops. We did sort of rolled snowmen and forts (all of us, girls).

A sound memory - the scrape of the snow shovel.

@ossobuco,
osso, thanks for reminding me that snow can be fun. We're supposed to get 15 cm today/tonight. I'll be driving in it. I hope all the other drivers remember how to drive in the snow.

Izzie, looking back I see I was a bit (a bit?) abrupt in my last post. Chalk it up to worrying about you. While I'm glad the foot is much better I'm sorry to hear you have other hurts. Here's a far-from-abrupt hug ((Izzie))

Been e-mailing back and forth with C. but finally spoke with her last night. She's very positive and upbeat. Still waiting to hear about tissue samples but we're all hoping for/expecting a good outcome there too.

@Izzie,
((Izzie)) Sounds like you and S are going to have a cozy day. Smile So, so sorry about those toots though. ugh. Wish I could blink my eyes and twitch my nose and make it all okay.

Sounds like FQ is doing great. Glad to hear it. Haven't seen her on FB - but I haven't been able to read much there either. Just posting for this and that and the other.

yeah...the tooth. It's gone. Had oral surgery - totally pisses me off. But I was making myself sick with that dang infection - so I just got rid of it. OH IT PISSES ME OFF SO BADLY THOUGH. Smile I should not complain. I have had some great pain meds. Thank you. Love you. Going to clean the house while I have my Lortab high. Quite fun.

@Tai Chi,
Hey Crew

Yep Osso, those snow angels were fab... (I'd get a parka like that Wink - thanku. It's raining here now - I think the rest of the country is still due for more snow, not in Devon and Cornwall tho - we've too warm here!!!!!!!! Ah well, will have to admire from a distance. x

Ah, TC - no, I didn't think you abrupt at all - but yay, I'll take the hug thanku - could do with a real one of those. Hope you managed to get to work OK and the snow didn't come down too thick and fast. Still Thinking Pink for your "C" and keeping everything crossed for a positive outcome. Keep emailing her so she knows she has your strength to help her through. Hope tomorrow's work will go quick and you'll be able to rest up in the evening. x

Missy - oh, nasty. YEP, it's awful losing teeth a? Over here it's so expensive to get a replacement tooth £2K each... ha, yeah right!!!!!!!!!!!!! Feel for you girl, was there a few months back and... if it's gotta go, it's gotta go. Ha, I shouldn't say enjoy the meds, but, just this once, let them do the job so you don't have any pain. Take care sweet Dixie. Love you x

((BEAgle)) - hope all is good with you - how's the cricket going? You been watching? Gotta go to bed now tho I'm so not tired, been up nearly 20 hours... ack. Little fella has been home - so that's been good. Have a costume for his play this week - he's going to have the dress rehearsal tomorrow. Lots going on this week at school, should keep him busy. Hoping I will get to the play on Friday if Tulip will take me, or Caralyn if she's down. Happy Sunday to you D. x

(((((Blue)))) miss you. xox x

@JPB,
It's only 2 in the morning there in England. Not a bad time for an owl like Izzie.

Goodnight Lady Izzie. Thanks for sharing the bonanza of bird photos! Very Happy

@Izzie,
Hi Izzie, before you go to bed, the English are doing well at the Adelaide Oval. Presently it is lunch on the 3rd day and England is 3/449, a lead of 204 runs with 7 wickets in hand. Pietersen is 158 no, and Collingwood is on 40 no. Another warm and sticky day but not as hot as yesterday when it hit 38.5
I'm watching the cricket live on my PC as it is not being televised locally because it is being played here, could affect attendances so they say, but that is a lot of poppycock as the Test is a complete sell out.
Good night and rest well. (((Izzie)))

Gonna put me some Dexter on, elevate and settle down with a brew.

Wishing all a great day

Gosh, it's way dark outside and only just gone 4.30pm - Sboy will have just finished rehearsals... hope it's all coming together well - am looking forward to seeing him on stage - he's wearing a red wool waistcoat (which belonged to my PaPa when he was in his 20's), red cravat, white shirt, grey trousers and a grey flat cap - he loved his costume so much he wore it TO school this morning instead of his play clothes. He's such a thesp Wink I reckon if he could wear a waistcoat each day, he would - he loves it!!!!!

Geez, Izzie, don't you ever read any of the posts you write? If you were any stronger, you'd need Arnold Schwarzenegger to lend his tailored clothing to you. If you were any stronger, someone would mistake you for Wonder Woman.

Izzie says she's not strong. We all think she is.

People tell me I'm strong. I don't think so.

We don't see ourselves the way others see us. (Robert Burns said it. See my signature line.)
