Oh heck
Poor captain
Hope the Devon medics can do their job, and the antibiotics too.
This sounds about as bad as it could be.
Best from us.

here's a little trick from a nurse I used to work with ... for times when even a slight breeze hurts your foot/toes but the weight of a sheet etc is also too painful

put a cardboard box (about the size a sensible cat would like to play in - big enough that your foot has at least eight inches of space on each side) on its side on your bed - with the open end toward you - put a small pillow inside - drape a sheet over top - put your foot inside on the pillow - put a light blanket over the box and sheet - the drafts will stay off but there won't be any pressure on the foot/toes

it's a homestyle version of those frames they have in hospitals

I hope the docs get the meds working for you right quick.

here's a little something about a yellow bird and a pretty girl from one of my favourite groups

I can't help but smile when I hear their voices. Good memories of my childhood.

@ehBeth,

Shocked

@Rockhead,
hmmmmmmm that is a bit of a problem

so, I mean a cat that understands what size box it actually fits into without too many bits hanging out

@Rockhead,
just to say ...home (phew, its been hours)

too too tired right now

big antibiotics - they started out saying they were admitting me for a few days - at which stage i nearly fell apart - uh huh!

saw the registrar after they got all the blood results and tho my WBC is slightly raised, my CRP isn't too bad at all - so he agreed to me coming home... this was also due to the fact there were no beds available on the orthopaedic ward - which, is good - i did not want to be in there, was really panicking about staying in...

anyhoo - cellulitis, skin infection... they have drawn a line around the red marks and dated it, if it spreads any further, go back tomorrow, have a photo too - will upload later

can move my ankle, just
don't have a fever
don't feel at all ill - not in the slightest
just heat, swelling and pain pain pain

registrar said i was more likely to pick up bugs in the hospital that being on own at home - but to keep a low threshold - if there are any changes, call them immediately.

blood pressure is 156/106 (v.high for me, I'm normally 100/60 - but they say that's because i'm in pain and not to worry about that)

just very tired, it hurts a lot (they've given me stronger pain killers along with the tramadol) and need to sleep now

my friend was fab - he stayed the entire time! Thanks to him.

will read back a little later - not allowed to stand up (except for essentials and have to keep feet above heart... other foot has started going red around the wound... darn!)

thanks all, will read back after a little sleep

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz x

And here's me thinking I had a busy day...glad you made it to the hospital but glad they didn't make you stay (that's a good sign, right?). Hope the antibiotics do their job asap.

The flowers were beautiful, Izzie. Quite brightened up my day. We did not get all the promised snow here, luckily, although it is very cold. I'm really tired (hope this is coherent). Early to bed for me.

@Izzie,
Best wishes from downunder Izzie, so hope things will improve for you over the weekend. I think a few days in Hospital would have done you no harm, you would have been well looked after. Will have a quiet Sunday at home apart from cheering the Aussie boys on in Cricket. Smile

Looks all right from here - but 2 days and plenty more to come!

Just cleaned up the Frogs well and good in rugby

See Poms didn't do so well against Sefricans.
And All Blacks beat Wales.
