Click user name box missing

I shut off my computer with Windows XP and restarted it. The screen came up: "To begin, click your user name." There is no box with my or anyone else's name. It's a blank blue field.

I've tried clicking everywhere in that blue zone. I've started it up in safe mode and gotten the same screen. Any ideas?
