I have a particularly lovely version on Bradford Marsalis' album.

That video isn't exactly the version on the album but its still very beautiful.

Just heard this again last night--one of my favorite concertos by Vivaldi--for two cellos . . . but here, we get Bobby McFerrin and a cellist, and the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra (it takes three shots to do all three movements):

This ends at four minutes--i don't know why they made it almost eight minutes long . . .

This one ends at 3:16 . . .

And the final and in my never humble opinion the best movement . . . this one ends at about 3:10 . . .

Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries" from the Met performance. Eight wonderful screaming sisters.

8 more plus Brunhilde in concert. A most unlikely bunch of sisters, but can they sing!

Here are some arrangements, by Berlioz, of La Marseillaise, the French national anthem, a wonderful piece of music in its own right. The first is performed by tenor Roberto Alagna.

Here is the ballet "Cinderella" by the Paris National Opera Ballet Company choreographed by the late dancer Rudolph Nureyev. It has a modern setting taking place around the 1920s with the theme of a film studio, King Kong et al. It's a refreshing departure from the old, stodgy Ashton production. It's 2 hours long, and you'll enjoy it.

Another "Cinderella" I've just finished watching, this time by the Russian Mariinsky Theatre that also has a modern setting. This may be my favorite, especially with the conductor's wonderful interpretation of the Prokofiev score. The music was written in the 1940s during the war after Prokofiev had returned to Russia. The video is in two parts and the first automatically goes onto the second part, each about an hour long. It's a comedic version, and the horny, self-serving step-mother will kill you.

This is the Mahler 8th symphony conducted by Leonard Bernstein and the Vienna Philharmonic in 1975. This is one of the two best performances of this work I've seen. Give it a chance; you'll be rewarded. It should be in your repertoire.

@coluber2001,
I had the opportunity to go to a concert at the Mariinsky Theater in St Petersburg, but that was many decades ago.

@ehBeth,
Whoa, I just read this. I have a lot of recordings of him and the Academy of St Martin in the Fields.

May he rest in peace.
