All the flowers are beautifu, but love the purple asters the best.

The second doll's head made me laugh - it reminded me of the time that I found a hornet's nest up under the eaves of my house and I was afraid to get up on a ladder to try to knock it down-I didn't want to get too close and get stung, and possibly fall off the ladder...so I had this old doll's head that had somehow come off of the body of my daughter's doll and I was throwing it up at this nest, trying to knock the nest down, but having no luck.
A friend of mine was walking by and asked me what I was doing and started helping me as he could throw it harder and more accurately than I could...but somehow my dog got ahold of the head and started ripping it apart, and for some reason, that made us laugh until my friend said, "You know- something about this whole situation is not even RIGHT" and then we started laughing harder, while at the same time now feeling compelled to try to rescue the doll's head from the dog.
We finally did get it, but by the time we got it back - it looked pretty much like that doll's head in your picture.
Thanks for the memories...

Automaton2,

I, too, like the asters best--and the reason is your good use of side-lighting. It brings up their texture very well. This picture works nicely.

The other images could be arresting, too, but you might want to think again about the limitations of head-on views. They can work very well, but, without really clever lighting, this POV can be a bit flat.

You might try experimenting with angles. For instance, a three-quarters view of a head, can often suggest more about the person (or doll) than a frontal view.

Keep at it! Clearly, you have an eye for rich subjects.

Best wishes.
