how to read the #'s on the side of a Kelly Charger auto tire to get the manufacture date.i want to know how old the tire is
Look at the last 3 or 4 digit code in the tire's casting number. Tires after 2000 use the four digit. The first two are the week (1-52) and the second two are the year. For instance 4406 would be the 44th week of 2006. Tires made before 2000 use the three digit code and only identify the last year of the decade. For instance 249 would indicate that it was produced during the 24th week of 99, but it could also be 89.
Most tires produced in the 90s had a small triangle cast in at the end of the identification code, but not always.
