Call 1-800-2429114 and tell them you want the AAA deal, which is $50 off your next bill, and $50 off in a year if you extend your contract for one year. It's an easy way to save $100. This applies to new and existing customers of DirecTV. Thought I'd pass it on.
How much is the montly bill for the year while you wait to get the other half of the discount?
It varies. They have a lot of different plans.
I have three HDTV's all with HD receivers, so I have the HD package and local channels in HD. It runs me about $65/month with a $10 discount that I made them give me for a previous billing problem I had (when in doubt, ask for "retention").
