How do a male cat's testicles develop?

Will they just DROP one day? Or is it a gradual thing?

I asking because Flash's seem larger...But I cant get him to a vet until Friday.

Im thinking this is a sign of his testicles dropping..

Could that be correct?

How old is he? Usually, cats of either sex are ready to go at a very young age.

How much of your day do you spend staring at your cat's testicles?

Just wait until he's the right age and have him neutered.....

He was a stray, so I have no clue how old he is.

I am guessing that he may be about 5 months? Possibly older but I am not sure.

Well, I don't stare at my cats nuts all day, but when they look bigger then before, i cant help but notice on that little bitty body of his..

Mmm, cat nuts. If you can feel them both in the scrotum, he's good to go, as long as he's safe for the quick little anesthesia he's going to have.

If you're going to take them, you might as well take them early.

I can get a vet on the phone tomorrow.. and when I talked to the spay/neuter clinic on Monday they had several openings for Friday.

I have been reading alot of small websites that say it is best to just wait until the scrotal sack is actually full ( what I think p-dog is describing) because they can fill with normal fluid before the testicles actually drop.

Undescended testicles are not ideal to operate on, nor are they as cheap.
I can snip him for 35 bucks, or if they are undescended, 125.00

Well, you've got to touch the thing to know if they're in there or not.

Ne'mind the people who'd joke about just looking at cat nuts -- if you want to know anything, you're going to have to read a little braille.

I didn't realize you could save that much by having them done earlier.

I've heard of neuticles. Never actually seen them in action, so to speak. (Or have I?)

This is genius. From the manufacturer's site...

Quote:
2005 IG Nobel Peace Prize for Medicine Neuticles inventor Gregg Miller awarded Harvard University's top prize during ceremonies held Oct 6, 2005 in Cambridge, MASS.

And what the Ig Nobel prize is (sayeth wikipedia):

Quote:
The first Ig Nobels were awarded in 1991, at that time for discoveries "that cannot, or should not, be reproduced."

No. If you have them done BEFORE they drop, you pay 125.00

If they have dropped ( about 6-7 months old) then it is only 35.00

but I am going through the local shelter that goes by income for that cost.
If I went to a regular vet, I could pay three times that easily.
