Good to know. Maybe I'll pick up an instructional DVD and try it out. Thanks!

The DVD's by pretty much any of the Bellydance Superstars are quite good. For real fun, just get one of the Bellydance Superstar DVD's where they're in performance - and the DVD extra shows how to break up the moves.

Aziza is another good instructor with useful DVD's.

There is a tv program called Shimmy which has a decent series of half-hour programs. It tends to be on between 8 and 10 a.m. on weekends here - mixed in with the Yoga and Pilates programming.

Soz--

Having owned both a friendly Irish Setter and a super-friendly collie/shepherd mix I found that frightened children calmed down when I zeroed in on the dog and announced, "__________ does not have a dirty face. You are a silly, silly dog. She doesn't want you to wash her face. She is a clean girl and you are a silly, silly dog."

Soz might be old enough for the second version, "This dog is still a good bit of a puppy. Did you know that puppys' mothers regurgitate food for them? This dog is trying to smell what you ate last and she's hoping that you'll vomit for her."

Face washing and vomiting are much nicer than being eaten alive.

Thanks for all of the suggestions, ehBeth! I know there are fitness pieces on Comcast on Demand; they might have something, too.

Jespah--

Perhaps, inside your body, there is a classic pear shape trying to emerge?

oh yeah, it's in there... can't wait to see it again Mr. Green

i did some of the front yardwork today.
it got up to about 42 -- the sun felt great.
but the wind was kicking stuff up a bit, making it difficult to bag.

i'll see if i can bug out early on wednesday and finish the job, then tackle the backyard (lotsa leaves) next weekend...

Scotland Run 10k was brisk run on a brisk day.

Took me juuuuuust over an hour 1:00:14, but I know I could have done better than that if I could have broken out of the mob in the 9 minute per mile section.

We were packed like suits on the cheap rack for the first mile, over 11 minutes!! I did the last five point three miles in 49:45 (all sub 9s except one 9:28) which is really good for me.

Anyway.

Joe(happy to be here)Nation

My anemia is official. I also had dangerously low levels of magnesium and potassium.

I have had reasons for not exercising, but now I should start again.

Motivation, anyone?

Dang, Noddy, sorry to hear about the "official" status of the anemia.
Have they given you a list of things to do and avoid?

My anemia is a recurring problem. Chemo can leave the walls of blood vessels thin and brittle--particularly at the teeny-tiny junctions of capillaries where arteries turn into veins.

The potassium and magnesium difficiencies are being investigated.

Once upon a time I had inconspicuous health. I liked that.

Hey Noddy, feel better.

Reege is doing well on Advil and rest (oops, it's time to get up).

Still planking here, gonna try to do it some more with and without the ball, try to build up my endurance. I definitely feel it in the quadral area. Smile
