EMOTIONS: RIGHT v. LEFT in Entertainment

Since around age 4, many decades ago, I 've delighted in movies.

I enjoy my 7 foot HDTV.

When I have seen fictional movies,
showing a homicidal maniac in a Halloween mask, or an athletic mask,
armed with a sharp agricultural instrument, maybe a pitchfork or a trowel,
sneaking up on some unsuspecting love-hungry teenagers,
or
maybe a rabidly malicious St. Bernard ( " Cujo " ) terrorizing mother n child,
I wish that the victims were well armed, in their own defense.
If thay actually DO grab a gun and open up on the bad guy,
I ( empatheticly ) feel relieved of emotional tension.
I feel emotionally frustrated when soon-to-be victims of violence are unarmed.

I LOVE nature shows: cape buffalo being hunted by lions in Africa.
I can 't help thinking, when the lion pounces,
that fleeing the scene will not save the heavy buffalo:
his survival depends upon his successfully COUNTERATTACKING the lions;
maybe a good hind kick in the jaw.

Is it DIFFERENT for collectivist-authoritarians,
who yearn to suppress freedom of self defense ?

Do liberals root for the bad guy ?

Do liberals FEEL BAD if a victim, in his desperation,
is able to grab up a gun for use against the predator ?

Do liberals loathe the philosophy of " Death Wish " with Charles Bronson n Hope Lange ?
In the rape-murder scene of his wife n daughter, in their NY apt,
I wished that thay 'd been better armed, in their own defense.
( Yeah, I know that it was the set-up scene for the rest of the movie. )

I wonder what emotions possess liberals,
when watching the same movie, showing unarmed victims.

Any thoughts of what thay think in those circumstances ?

I am probably not what you would consider a Liberal, but some people look at movies for what they are. MOVIES. Not real. Made up stories for some type of entertainment value. I would think that no sane and rational person would hope that ficticious victims are packing and ready to take out other ficticious characters. Even kids know that cartoons and movies aren't real.

Your assertions are inconsistent with known human experience.

I believe that most, or all, movie directors and authors of screenplays
wud deem their mission to have failed,
if the audience had not been drawn into the cinematic experience,
for its duration, with empathy for its characters.

Do u deny that ?

I 've known some young ladies
who equip themselves with hankies, or a box of Kleenex,
before watching, or re-watching, designated movies.
Thay buy into those movies, for the duration
of the cinematic experience. It appears that this is a surprize to u.

Maybe its different in Canadia.

Your posted criterion of sanity is not competent.

As a conservative I definitely feel bad when the victim is too stupid to shoot twice because the movie always has at least 20 minutes to go and the bad guy has to get up at least once.
