Margo - about the bread? peppermintpatiodog had a question about bread crust in 2004. So how is it?

I haven't faced the bread thing yet - only managed a cup of tea and a few grapes so far.

I don't hold out too much hope for great bread, though.... Sad Confused At least not easily available. There's a couple of specialty bakers not too far from me - but that fluffy, airy stuff you get in supermarkets - ugh! I suspect that'll take over the world! Evil or Very Mad

Among the many errors of the rest of the English-speaking world, BrandX, is prounouncing the letter "zee" as "zed" . . . i do believe our lapine friend is threatening you.

I missed the bread stuff but I see reverberations that bring up Nancy Silverton's breads (grapes fermenting, dough kept on counter as a routine, really really good breads). I haven't done them but a friend cooked the whole book's worth of breads, spectacular.

Me, I do Carol Field's Italian breads, somewhat less precious but really good.

What was the question?

I hope that it's a better year, msolga, for you and for everyone here. I don't know what I'm going to do when I finally get down to Munich. I think I'm about two hours away.
