i installed a new timing motor on my rainsoft a few months ago. about a month after, my salt tank filled up with water and overflowed. i have to take a cup to get all the water out. last month i empted, took apart and cleaned the salt tank and could not find any clogges and it countinues to fill with water. the "owners manual" is vague at best. rainsoft is to expensive for service calls so i have to get this done myself. if anyone out there could help me with any advice i would greatly appreciate it. thank you.

It sounds like the system is not drawing brine.
It puts water in, but is unable to draw any out causing the tank to fill up over time.
New O rings on the piston and brine injector should correct the problem.
The brass RainSoft valve is obsolete, most dealers will not service them and non-RainSoft dealers don't have a clue how to fix them.
If you are able to get it serviced I suggest you have new shut off tabs installed at the same time.

If you are unable to get it serviced I suggest a new softener from EcoWater.

The drain line could be partially blocked, or the injector or injector screen, or the brine line connections could be sucking air instead of heavy brine water, or...

All those things cause no salt water suction and too much water in the brine tank along with no soft water.

You may be able to fix it yourself if you can find the correct O rings.
You will need to get creative when unscrewing the piston - it requires
a proprietary wrench, but some have worked around this issue.

Like I said - some just don't have a clue...
