They're two different degree courses.
Anyone know the difference?
I may be studying something along those lines next year.
computer science - branch of engineering science that studies computable processes and structures.
computer engineering - mathematics, science, and economics along with technological knowledge and skill in the application of programming languages, computer hardware, operating systems, and networking.
can you see the slight (and not so slight) difference?
You'd really have to look at the specific course outlines to see what the differences between any 2 degrees are. "Computer Engineering"" is often used to mean the same thing as "Electronics Engineering" and seems to be generally focused on the design and integration of hardware.
"Computer Science" is almost 100% software development.
A computer engineer might design the motherboard in your PC where a computer science major would likely write the applications you run on that PC.
Yes the engineer course will teach you basic structure and outline hardware design mostly as comp science will be programming and how different ways of programming will interact with hardware.
