Any of you folks seen any movies that has a great, wicked twisted ending?
I enjoyed watching the endings of 'The Sixth Sense' and 'Unbreakable'
The Spanish Prisoner. Steve Martin is in it, but it's not a comedy.
Green Witch, I just was thinking of the same movie. I loved the "Spanish
Prisoner" - what a great movie that is.
I also love movies with twist endings.
In addition to The Spanish Prisoner (a real gem), you may also enjoy The Game, eXistenZ (that's how its really spelled), and The Usual Suspects.
The Spanish Prisoner was directed by David Mamet. Another of his movies is Heist. This is also a real gem, though the ending doesn't quite qualify as a twist.
I envy anyone watching these films for the first time.
I'm going to add Dirty Rotten Scoundrels to the list too.
The original Wicker Man.
Holy ****!
Thanks! I'll be sure to watch the films you folks mentioned.
I also like to add a couple of more that had great twisted endings:
Shattered - starring Tom Berenger
Dragonfly - starring Kevin Costner.
Just saw the mist...This was the same director who did the Green Mile and Shawshank Redemption so you know this movie is good. Yeah...that ending, man....I watched it hours ago and I'm still awed by it.
This is definately the best Stephen King Adaptation in years
Pretty Persuasion starts as a dark comedy centered around a self-centered, manipulative, spoiled Beverly Hills prep-school girl who schemes to frame an innocent teacher for sexual abuse, because he made her best friend cry. The movie elicits a smirk as one sees how, for being a self-centered, spoiled prep-school girl, she really isn't all that bad, and one kind of feels for her as she loses control of her own intrigues.
The movie proceeds to smack that stupid smirk off of your face as its twist and killer hook reveals itself. After the twist, the jokes are the same as in the begining of the movie, but they're not funny anymore, they're pathetic.
This movie is a cross between all of those bitchy teen movies, and "In the Company of Men."
The Empire Strikes Back ("Luke, I am your father!")
Citizen Kane (it was his SLED!)
Jacob's Ladder
Frequency
The Others
Fight Club
Margaret's Museum - Cdn Flick - great!
There are also three European movies called "Red", "White", and "Blue"
very twisted, independent movies that somehow tie together.
(subtitled).
Fallen w/ Denzel Washington.
The ending makes the movie.
The Game, with Michael Douglas and Sean Penn. I must add that this is a truly awful movie, on many levels, but it does have a twist ending.
Another awful movie with a twist ending is "Angel Heart" (Mickey Rourke, Robert DeNiro).

I have a feeling the dancing-naked-whilst-sexily-slapping-the-walls scene would be fun for Jeremiah too. (I thought it was pretty stupid.)
