Is there anyone out there who have installed Piringa hardwood flooring in their home? How is it in winter? and is it difficult to the point of impossible to install? It is muskoka hardwood and it is made in Canada.

It looks like the Piringa is a real hardwood, 3/4" thick. It should act like any hardwood floor. It will be colder than carpet when your bare feet hit it on a winter morning but other than that winter should be no problem.

I am assuming you have checked the manufacturer specs and realize that hardwood flooring should not be installed in a basement or over a concrete floor.

Their installation pdf refuses to open for me but install is probably similar to any hardwood floor. It needs to be installed over a decent subfloor and is nailed down using a special flooring nailer which can be rented.

Here is an installation guide with pictures.

If you are handy with tools, it should be easy but will take time. If you have a friend that has ever done this before with a little bit of guidance at the beginning you should be able to do most of it yourself. Check your supplier and see if they have an installation video. Many of them do.
