Bathtub resurfacing??

Anyone ever have this done? If so, curious as to your experience and if its a good thing or not?
I have an older cast iron tub that is BLUE. I was just going to tear it out and replace it. But then came accross an ad about resurfacing old tubs.
There is a national company, Miracle Method restoration with branches around US, in my area that gave me a quote, that I thought was reasonable.
Again, I am curious if anyone has any experience with this restoration. It would sure save me ALOT of work and headaches IF its a good thing.
Thoughts?
Thanks!! Question

Resurfacing done in your home is just a coating and will give you a finish that lasts about 7-10 years realistically. To do a proper job that will last a long time the bath needs to be taken out and fired in a kiln. This is called re-enamelling.

I had it done - because my tub was a beautiful avocardo green. In any case, it would great when it was done and wasn't very expensive. I can't remember the guarantee they gave me - but you should make sure they do have some sort of guarantee on it. I am also not sure how well it held up as I sold my condo not too long after I had it done.

The g/f's landlord had the tub in her place redone. It started peeling off within 2 months.

Bathtubs are cheap. Replace it yourself. Wink
