Caught the "red carpet interview" on Sky News.
Looking forward to your comparison between regular screen and Imax.

Yeah, that IMAX should be pretty cool.

Plus, I wouldn't give-up on Jolie just yet.

I swore I saw a quick-clip of Beowulf fighting a HUGE beast with the same shiny-gold skin that Grendle's Mom had on one of the 1st trailers...

Maybe she transforms or something??!?!

aaaah Kermit, you are very cute. You sound really excited about it.

I'm with Jespah. Jolie as a troll doesn't even come close to what Grendel;s mother represented.

Have you read Grendel by John Gardner? It was a wonderful depiction of the monster discovering his humanity along with his need to be accepted. Grendel is a very sympathetic figure from this point of view and his mother is far more monstrous than in Beowolf.

Take the time to read it. Both perspectives make for a complex, but enjoyable analysis of both sides.

I've read Gardner's Grendel. I am so happy to see that others have as well!

Looking forward to (eventually) seeing this movie.

I doubt the movie could ever compete with the "Classic Comic".

My earliest recollection of dragons was with Idris, who lived in Ivor The Engine's fire-box.It was my ,then,8 year old daughter who invited me to sit and watch one of her favorite TV programs.
Over the years,in films, dragons have come and gone.Even Sean Connery chatted to one,and Harry Potter 4 had three crackers.
Why am I rambling on?,you may well ask.
Because I've just seen the 3D version of Beowolf at the London IMAX which includes one of the BEST dragons in the final reel.It looks and acts a bad SOAB.
I knew nothing of the story before I put my bum on my seat.Perhaps, over the years,I haven't read the "right" books.
It takes a while to get used to what you're seeing on the screen and there are no silly "leap-out" effects at the start.I was then drawn in to the film.Literally.At times you feel that the action (and there's a LOT of action sequences) is happening all around you.Due to the 3D effect,my bum jumped off my seat three times.
Angelina Jolie looks stunning, especially with gold coloured water running down her naked body, and Ray Winstone's wife said she hasn't seen his body in such good shape scinse he was boxing in his youth.
This is a film that HAS to make money on the big screen.I can't imagine watching this,in 2D,on my big screen, let alone LCD/Plasma,Hi-Def or not.
Please,if you have an IMAX theatre in your area, that's the place to see it.If your kids do,then you could combine a family visit.
IMAX is THE theatre to see this this ground-breaking film.
It isn't perfect but I can't wait to see what these guys can offer us over the next few years.

PS
Look for the facial hair details, especially on the ladies.

Now I'm in a quandry. I would love to see it on IMAX, but the only IMAX in New Mexico is in Alamagordo, near the White Sands National Monument, which would also be interesting to see. It means a long drive, but then, almost everyhting in NM is a long drive...

And I heard Beowulf was awesome visually but with a crappy story. True?

I seriously think that a monkey could have written a better plot than beowolf, it made no sense. The whole movie was nothing but a bunch of digital guy porn. It was disgusting.

That is one thing that I don't get. I guess if the naked bodies are digitallized, its allowed to be rated PG-13. That thing should have been rated at least R rated.
