1) Can you and your spouse get a valid divorce in Haiti?

2) Can your spouse divorce you in Haiti without your consent?

A statement of consent is necessary from either spouse, and only
New York, California and Massachusetts honor divorces made in Haiti,
and the Dominican Republic.

This is according to the New York Times of yesterday

Calamity Jane--

Thank you.

But that wasn't yesterday's New York Times. It was 20 years ago.

Since this was 20 years ago this should tell you the rate of speed in which
Americas laws are changed. Once on the books it's very hard to get them removed. It's even longer to get some fair laws concerning divorce in America considering how are states and our justice system works in America Rolling Eyes
