I have a painting here that I picked up for little more than pocket change. It's oils and looks to have been painted largely by palette knife. I don't know much else about it.

Thanks for the help. Much obliged.
The signature says Buchman but I can't make out the first name -- Clive maybe?
I googled "Clive Buchman painting" and "Buchman painting" but didn't come up with anything.
Buchman? Could be. I tried "Clive Buchanan" and didn't get anything either.
Thanks for trying though.
I looked at the signature again. It looks like either Bachman or Bachanon. Either way, I'm pretty confident now that the first vowel is an "a".
For whatever reason, I'm sure there has to be something out there on the artist. Though, I suppose, it is entirely possible it was a talented local artist. Still, I'd think there would be some kind of recognition somewhere.
The first name is "Uwe" Uwe Bachmann.
THere is a German photographer whose name is Uwe Bachmann - he's
made great pictures, but I haven't found any paintings.

I couldn't decide if it was Uwe Bachman or Buchman. Didn't get as far as you did, CJ, that he is a photographer. Unless there are two or more Uwe Bachmans -
ah, but I saw only one n....
duh, I was wrong, there are two...
