I have "city" water and an in line Aquapure sediment filter because my main is old. Was thinking about getting a whole house Aquasana Rhino system. Anyone have any info and/or opinions? thanks.

From the company web site:

"The pre-filter will need to be replaced every 3-6 months depending on the amount of sediment in your water.
The main unit will not need to be replaced for up to 3 years or 300,000 gallons, based on an average faimly use of 100,000 gallons per year."

What's a faimly

Be aware that these filters are not backwashable, so id sediment is a problem it will accumulate causing problems. There is usually a prefilter and that will catch most of the sediment so it may not be a major issue.

It contains KDF and at least two types of carbon all of which are very effective at eliminating chlorine problems.

These are not rebuildable. I have talked to the manufacturer to see if the tank adapter can be purchases separately and they won't provide one. You have to buy the tanks when you want to change the filter media.

It is not a bad innovation but it may not cover all the problems you may have and other systems may do as well or better for cheaper.
