Another Rainsoft problem

Hi all just found these forums and looks promising. Cool

I have Rainsoft water softener which was installed in 1999. According to documents I have, says it's an am32. On the timer the only relevant information might be the model # AMB 744CT 60 Hz and it is an electro/mechanical timer.

The problem I seem to be encountering is no regeneration. I have kinda looked at it but it's pretty much Greek to me currently. What I have determined is that the clock seems to be working but nothing else. I can't even manually regenerate. Don't know if that because a sheared pin, piston stuck or something to do with the timer itself. Makes no noise of any kind.

Any advice is greatly appreciated and thanks in advance!

Welcome to A2K!

It defiantly sounds like a sheared pin and stuck piston.
Do you have a local RainSoft dealer that you could contact?

You could contact RainSoft, explain your situation and request repair parts.

It's worth a try.

Thanks man fo the reply and info to RainSoft but I feel if they cna't even host a local company , I am not going to bother messing with them. Heck the were way to expensive back in 99 -2000 wanting like from memory $240 plus for service all. Shocked No thanks...

I'd soon let it set there as to pay Rainsoft for anything... Mad sorta

Any way I truly appreciate your help in this matter and will persue a diffrent avenue to reslove my problem.

Woah! Is A2K affiliated with this 'rainsoft' company or is all of this just coincidental?

A2k is an offshoot of RAINSOFT inc. which was founded to manage the assets of The Weathergirls, after they went double platinum.

Ok here's the deal..piston o-rings looked good and re-greased them. the two other little valve thingies also looked good. The clear tube thingie was ok actually everything looked good.

After reassembly it did start making noise this time but I am afraid the drive motor has a problem internally. Crying or Very sad

Any place a peep might one besides Rainsoft or if all all.

Thanks in Advance!

Email a picture of the motor to me, I may have one.
Is it a 24v or standard motor?

I was able to open the file and ID the motor as an old style 24v drive motor.
It is like the one on the right.
