Regarding "Eddie Adams - Execution of a Viet Cong Guerrilla (1968)"

The picture said to have "turned public opinion against the Vietnam war." I have however read somewere that this picture in particular was not responsible for turning the opinion. Many americans apparently saw it as only natural for an officer to execute Viet Cong. A common misconception I've been told.
