We draft live and local at the Elks' hall. Hopefully, armed with hot-off-the-press opening day rosters. Hopefully.

Yahoo manages the draft (er, for Yahoo fantasy football -- can't speak for the Elks' Hall).

Can you speak after Elke Sommer?

Or have all the suds left you speechless?

PS Draft is today, folks.

Elke looks more like Barbie to me.

So we drafted our players today on Yahoo. I was there picking live and I guess a few other of the 12 of us were also.
When it ended, after 45 minutes, each of us has a roster of 15.

So how did we do? I don't know, but it seems to me we came out quite balanced for the most part. Here is what I did:

I added up the Fantasy Points that each player here had last year. That came to 1300 for me. Then I threw out significant redundant points. For example, in my case, I have QB Peyton Manning and QB Brett Favre. I can't start both, so I tossed out one of them, which brought me down to around 1150. I didn't do a position by position look at this type of redundancy; just the obvious ones.

The results came out like this, and any help in identifying who is who would be appreciated:

Smallville Smashers (is who?): 1300
Jericho Wallbangers (fbaezer): 1200
Turf Toe (jpinmilw): 1200
Rappin' Rednecks (realjohnboy): 1150
Ballers (is who?): 1150
Flying Pancakes (pantalones): 1100
Stone Hams (george): 1100
Wreckin' Crew (is who?): 1100
Ticomaniacs (tico): 1050
135702 (cicerone): 1000
Cycloteam (cyclo): 900
Semi-Tough Puppies (jespah): 700

Cicerone somehow ended up with that nice young man, Michael Vick, on his roster. I wouldn't count on seeing him on the field anytime soon, Tak. You have one good solid QB, so you might want to consider getting rid of that puppy. Oops, I mean you might want to select another player.

Do you s'pose taking a kicker in Round 2 has anything to do with that?

Looks like the "favorites" of the sports pundits are Dallas, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, and a couple of others.

I put Tom Brady as my number 1 choice.
Not a brilliant move since Brady's stats are never all that impressive.
But I don't care.
Let the games begin!

As a matter of fact, Brady is a pick for one of the pundits, and believes the Pats will be in the super bowl again.

He's only 30 years old, and feel he's got an excellent future ahead of him.

{whacks jpb with handy implement. Right now it's either a water bottle or an electric fan, which is currently off}

PS The stinky team prolly has a lot more to do with having zero time to do this than anything else.

Poor JPB wonders why she had gotten whacked.
