1984 300D Turbo Diesel trouble

I just purchased a 1984 300D turbo diesel. When i purchased it, it started and ran while i test drove and drove it home. Since then, it has not started. I have the haynes manual for it, and have gone through all trouble shooting steps, and changed fuel filters. The only thing i have not done is drain the old fuel out of the tank.

If anyone has any tips, they would be much appreciated. Thanks, Rob
