My Film Career

I hate to blow my own horn. I really do. But I've had a nice little career in the movies for many years now, and it's about time I shared that with my A2K friends.

It all started with a bit part in a classic film. Here's a little blurb that was written about me:

"When filming this scene from "The Godfather," director Francis Ford Coppola found a stray cat on set and handed it to Marlon Brando (Vito Corleone) without a word. Marlon and the cat had an instant rapport, which is very clear onscreen."

No wonder Marlon and I hit it off. I was born to act. Notice how I really get into my role.

Notice right at the end when he puts me on the desk? Now....I could have jumped down.....then everyone in the theatre would've said, "where's the little cat going?" But I was never one to steal the scene from my fellow actors. I never tried to hog the show.

I stayed right where Marlon put me. It's called "professionalism" people....... "professionalism"

You want to know the truth? I was in love with Marlon. AND DAMMIT! I'M NOT ASHAMED TO SAY IT!!

I always thought that cat should have been up for Best Supporting Actor. I think you got ripped off, even though you did get to work with M. Think of where you'd be now - why, you might have even supplanted Morris!

Thank you, Mame, except that should be Best Supporting Actress.

And yes, I could have mopped up the floor with Morris. He wasn't in the same league with me. He wasn't fit to wipe this pussy's boots.

Thank you, thank you....(waving)...... I'd like to thank my director, Francis Ford Coppola, and my mentor, Marlon Brando...... and of course, my parents, Tom and Kitty Cat. And I owe a big debt of gratitude to the makers of Purina and Kibbles......

OMG....I...I'm so moved.

Such intensity, such strength.

I felt as though I was in Marlons lap myself. I found myself lifting my paw in sync with yours. That madam, is acting.

Tell me, is it true what they said about him? I've always wondered.

Yeah, but "They Shoot Horses, Don't They," and since it's not the headless horseman but the horse's head, you can't help what happens between the sheets and Stray Cat seems to have that figured out.

But better Marlon in "The Wild Ones" or "Streetcar Names Desire." I think I remember a cat in "Streetcar." Wasn't the name Vivien Leigh?
