In the sentence "The boy John ran", what is the construction of adjoining "John" to "boy" called.

Other examples:
She recieved the grade "A".
They both took the course English Grammar.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I apologise if this has been answered before, but without knowing the name or what examples people might have used, I am unable to search!

@Rindon,
I think that's an appositive.

@roger,
I've looked up "apposition" and you seem to be right. Thank you!
