Law of Inheritance?

My grandfather died many years ago and his home was supposed to be sold and divided up to his siblings. However it has taken years to finilize the selling of the property because the siblings made it more complicated by splitting the lot up and selling to home builders. My mother (one of the siblings), just passed away before the sell of the lots was finalized.
By law, do my brothers and I collect what my mother was supposed to receive?
