Jon Stewart Stepping Down as ‘Daily Show’ Host
http://www.thewrap.com/jon-stewart-stepping-down-as-daily-show-host

It soon will be an end of a great era in political satire. We'll see how Larry Wilmore and John Oliver carry their respective torches on their own fake news programs.

Who do you think should take over Jon Stewart's hosting chair to the Daily Show when he finally steps down and leaves?

Amy Poehler or Tina Fey.

@Butrflynet,
Wonderful choices butrflynet! Tina Fey would be brilliant. Both of them are also effectively out of work (Amy Poehler, especially since Parks and Recreation is finishing its final season).

I'm hoping for Samantha Bee to take the chair.

Sarah Silverman would also be a good candidate for the show host.

Thinking of the 'reporters' on the show I have soft spots for many - particularly Asif Mandvi, Sam Bee and Wyatt Cenac. John Oliver of course stands alone (and Colbert obviously)

The current crop are pretty good, Jess Williams and Jordan Klepper show promise but I don't think either is ready.

I agree with that tweet

Dear Mr Stewart I'm sorry we cannot accept your resignation at this time.

And how true is this....

@tsarstepan,
I think Andrew Sullivan, The Dish, started this. Key person, whatever you think of him. He quit last week. Not that he influenced Stewart. Just that they had similar stuff with the long history of shows/blogs. Maybe similar takes as friends.

Trevor Noah makes an appearance on Jerry Seinfeld's pitch perfect webshow!
Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee S6 E5: Trevor Noah

After watching this particular episode? I feel much more better about his hiring as host of the Daily Show.

If you were a fan of Jon Stewart's Daily Show, you should be watching Cody Johnston's Some More News on YouTube. Factual news presented in a funny way. The reason most people won't watch is that each show is 30-40 minutes and focuses on 1 topic. The episode "Try Harder, Bill Maher" was a long methodical and comical examination of how Bill Maher has been completely full of **** for decades. He's a liberal who likes drugs and doesn't like taxes... so he's a Libertarian which is essentially a half-assed Republican. Anyway... Cody good! You should watch!

Jon Stewart will return to 'The Daily Show' as a weekly guest host
Quote:
Stewart will kick off as Monday host of the Daily Show on Feb. 12. The weekly gig will go on through the 2024 elections, according to Comedy Central. It's a throwback for Stewart, who spent 16 years hosting the show from 1999 until 2015. Off-air, he'll also return to executive producing the program.
