Anyway when I was in London I met this guy Steve. I was outside this Italian restaurant just south of King's Cross Station. I was wondering if anyone else here knows Steve. I think it was in 1997 or 98. If you know Steve please post pictures, I'm curious if he still looks the same.

Oh, i was a day in Waterford
And there were wine and pints on the table
And a full house of women
And me . . . drinkin' their health . . .

I know Steve; he looks about 12 years older than he did in 1998. He says to say "Hi". He says you owe him $50, but he won't say what for. He sends this picture

well thinking on it I remember being on leave in Sydney in '63 and met this lady who took me home with her and I lost my virginity that night and she just laughed, anyway she told me her name was Sheila so if anyone knows her I'm curious to know if she's still in Sydney.

I'm from Sydney and my mother is a Shiela, and I was born in 1963. Mother always said my Daddy was a serviceman on leave. The "tightwad" she called him. (Is this American slang of some sort?) Could you be my daddy?

I stayed at a hotel opposite kings cross station. My early morning walks took me around the streets in all directions. No Itialian restaurants. burger king, maccas, some down market curry houses and a starbucks but no italian places that i noticed.

@dyslexia,
I visited London for a weekend when I was stationed in Germany in the winter of 1990. I don't remember meeting a buckaroo from New Mexico nor do I even remember being in King's Cross Station.

So it probably wasn't me.

@dyslexia,
I like this thread.
It's funny.

Sheila happens to be a very good friend of mine, dys. She has regrets to this day about "what might have been".
I thought you'd like to know that.

@margo,
Ha!
I'll let someone far more imaginative than me respond to that, margo! Wink

@msolga,
well msogla I'm sure it's all to the the better, Sheila was an older woman, I'd guess about 23 and far more sophisticated than I. I'm guessing she hooked up with an architect and raised 3 kiddos in the shadows of Redfern Park. Ah, but then, what if, what if? Could you see by my outfit that I am a cowboy? Would I still be cranky?

@dyslexia,
(very funny)

No, no, it was kiddies she would have raised in the shadow of Redfern Park, dys. Gotta get these small details right!

All lost in the mists of time!
