This was my first base assignment in the USAF in the late 1950s

Travis AFB is where I learned about conventional and nuclear weapons. My next tour of duty was in Morocco at Ben Guerir AFB about 40 miles north of Marrakech. Even stayed at the hotel where they filmed "The Man Who Knew Too Much" with Jimmy Stewart and Doris Day.
My love of travel was born while stationed at Ben Guerir AFB, because I was able to visit Tangiers, Casablanca, Madrid, Paris and London during my one year stint in Morocco.
