Your way actually makes more sense (I never call it "pea green soup") but that's how they do it 'round here. And I think the idea of green pee gets extra giggles.
One St Patrick's day one of my nurse colleagues injected green dye into an unopened carton of milk, and hid the other one so we would have to use the green one.
I happened to be the first to pour it into my coffee.
It is INDESCRIBABLE to find one is pouring pale green milk into something. It felt highly disturbing. Everyone was aghast!! That was one happy nurse.
