I think this test is seriously flawed! Wink

I mean, would either Joan or Walter have named Nelson Mandela as their personal hero, or have stated they'd like to die peacefully in their sleep?

Erm...well, I did.

Not necessarily the sleep....but peacefully. And Nelson wasn't a PERSONAL hero (I named people I personally know, except for Aung San (spelling?)) but he was a HERO.

Yikes. Just remembered. I omitted nominating a historical figure I really admire. Because I couldn't think of anyone I really admired. Oh well ....

Kirk Douglas and Jane Goodall.

Hmm, they'd have rather interesting children.

Ah, Jespah as Spartacus in the remake, incorporating elements of King Kong.

That would be "King Kong vs Spartacus" and it would involve a scene up on the cliff of Skull Island with KK lifting Spartacus' skirt. He came out of the closet (cave) the week before.

Be prepared to be the headliner of 20 or so new Leonabanks' threads. Do you revel in that kind of sunlight? Wink

I'm going to b a killjoy-- I think this is a bunch of BS. I like Vanity Fair, but the Proust Quiz is a bunch of pretentious nonsense. Oh wait, most of VF is pretentious nonsense, but I do like the writing and sometimes it can be fun and dishy.

P.S. I subscribe.

The only times I have ever picked up and bought the magazine was when Stephen Colbert and Knut (the polar bear from Berlin) were on the covers.

Now that it's been brought up, I'm pretty sure that I've never ever bought a single issue of VF. Only time I've ever seen a copy is on someone else's coffee table or in someone's witing room. Is it worth reading at all?

i've read it on occasion, it's usually because the cover story interested me

some very good writers have written for VF

for me it goes in the same category as harpers and the new yorker,if the cover stories interest me i'll probably pick it up
