I know it is off because of the recharge time being to early. However I'll be darned if I can see where to line up the correct time. . or should I simply rotate the spindle assuming vertical is 12 o'clock.

It's a water softener question, which I can't answer. I guess I should tag it.
Contrex doesn't do nuance.
spindle then repechage vertically into the early water upon full rotation
