The air car designed by a French engineer and built by Tata Motors in India has an innovative engine that runs on compressed air. This is a tremendous advancement and could have huge implications to the pollution problems worldwide. When will these cars be made commercially available in the United States?

Of course, you have to compress the air in some way AND transport it with you.

Like many innovative vehicles, it all comes down to how much energy are you wasting to make it work.

It would probably take less energy to charge batteries and run an electric car then it would to compress the air to run this "innovative" engine.

Here's a story on the car.

Carbon fibre tanks with 4350 PSI. And it requires a special compressor at stations to fill them. you can't fill the tanks with the present air hoses at gas stations that have about 120-150psi.
