What is the English name of this game please

Not sure if this is right...maybe others here on A2K could help. I think it could be a variation of the east Asian (and worldwide) game called 'Go', A variation of 'Go' here in USA is called 'Pente.'

Go is played on a grid with black painted lines (usually 19 by 19 of them). The playing pieces, called "stones", are played on the intersections of the lines.

In Germany, it is called Carrom. Maybe that helps?
