Hello!

I have a fairly new laptop and somehow I received a virus
inspite of my Norton Security System.

Anyway, it was a TrojanHorst Zlob.gen

I cleaned it up the best I could with Microsoft malicious software
(malware?) remover.

But now, I constantly get these popups saying Windows Explorer
stopped working, then Windows Explorer restarting.

And it's like the computer constantly resets the desktop, like it's
rebooting or something. It's driving me crazy!

Now, I'm definitely no computer expert, so some simple advice
would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!

ps- excuse me if this has been posted before, but i couldn't find it.

explorer is basically just the program that draws the taskbar and windows on your desktop. that being said... i'm not sure there is a way to fix the damage done. you can probably use the vista install disk to "repair" the OS. if you don't have an install disk, call the computer maker and ask them how to use the repair feature.

Could it be that you didn't remove it properly?

Trojan.Zlob.F is a Trojan horse that may download and execute remote files and redirect the Internet Explorer home page and search page.

When you google it, you'll find some removers.

Thanks guys! I appreciate your help!

Since I posted, I left that laptop in a corner and continued using
my old one. I'll have to renew my efforts and get that thing working
normally again!

Uebrigens Walter,

Sad
