Why don't they make a law for Grandparents to see Grandchildren?

They tried that. The Supreme Court struck them down in Troxel v. Granville (2000) because it interfered with a parent's constitutional right to raise their children.

I hope this doesn't sound condescending because I don't mean it that way AT ALL but -- have you tried asking nicely? Being combative or demanding is about the worst thing you could do.

Well, the supreme court struck down one visitation law because it was too broad. Other states have grandparent visitation statutes that are more narrowly drawn and which, presumably, would withstand constitutional scrutiny.

You're right, joe, of course.

Which brings me to another point -- hire a good lawyer. Family law is not a do it yourself kind of thing.
