First:

Patiodog may well be posting in the future, and the last thing I want to do is eulogize him into being sheepish about coming back -- we WANT him to come back.

BUT

Patiodog's last day at work is next Friday, August 1st. He posts exclusively from work.

Shocked Confused Crying or Very sad

He will be moving to Madison (yay) shortly thereafter to go to grad school, and says he probably will have much, much (MUCH) less time for and access to A2K. I keep thinking of Swimpy, who is one of my all-time favorite Abuzzer/A2Kers, and whose participation dropped off a cliff when she started her new job. (Miss ya, Swimp!) (Yes, I know you're here now and then, but miss you anyway!)

I, for one, will miss the peppermintpatiodog big-time if his participation is that severely curtailed, and thought I'd give other people a chance to say, if not "Goodbye", at least "Bon Voyage."

I've arranged for this thread to be pulled on Sunday night, and then reinstated next Friday morning, so all the stuff we've added will appear *poof* when he arrives at work on Friday. (Again, he posts exclusively from work, so exclusively Monday-Friday, won't see anything posted over the weekend.)

So... ain't he great?

Well, I love my peppermintpatiodog, and that's the truth.
Lovely, scary-big-brained boy that he is.

I'm thinking a nice seafood buffet and disco dance party to see him off?

This cannot be. I refuse to believe such
a cool, sharp, and intuitive individual

Well, this is really sad for all of us.

But may be, patiodog likes it the way it goes?

[Hi Swimpy, btw!]

WHAT? No, no, no, no, no, this is impossible. P'dog will have a computer somehow in gradschool and he will check in once in a while, otherwise I will go off my feed, for sure, for sure. I will not accept this. A lapse, perhaps, but not goodbye, no way.

Our job has been complete, all we can do is
Give him his roots
and
Give him his wings

Dog, from your past postsI always assumed you were going to be doing research work in ecology, is this correct? whatever your path, best of luck and dont get caught in the "scholars debate room" too much .
See ya at a symposium sometime
