Saw this movie last weekend at an advanced screening. What a great great movie to take a kid to. Equally enjoyable for both parties.
i saw a preview...and agree
Looking forward to the opening.
panzade -- Do you go to a lot of movies like that? I don't go to a ton of movies targetted at kids, but I am kind of an animation lover. So that's what had me excited for Ratatouille. But I have to admit, the story was great, it reminded me of the Disney all-timers, like Dumbo or Pinnochio.
I never see animation at a theatre...but the new CGI stuff is unreal...a cute story line too
Just saw it
Just saw it at an advanced screening and thought the animation was absolutely beautiful .. I think my favorite part was when Remy looked out over Paris.. The details were just .. awesome

so...how is it pronounced??
Set and I can pretty much only agree on animation as films we both want to see, so it's always encouraging to catch a thread like this.
Stewed veggies it is!
Are we talking about a movie called Ratatouille? I must live too far from town. I was gonna make a comment that it must be made with fresh rat.
pronounce rat - uh - too - eee ...
and as far as animated movies go it definitely blows past cartoons out of the water.. the animation is some of the best I have ever seen
9 Minute Preview
I'm looking forward to seeing it -- since my Mom loved "Finding Nemo," I think I'll do a matinee. Looks good -- thanks for the link.
We waited til tonight to see it and folks...let me ask you...when was the last time you saw the audience stand up and cheer as the credits rolled by?
When was the last time you heard 6 year olds and 46 year olds screaming with laughter at the same time?
We really enjoyed it...and the film score was especially good.
Now the best animated film of all time in my opinion -- move out of the way "Finding Nemo," "Shrek," and "Toy Story."
I'd missed this, Wiz pointed me to it when I opened a new one...
I really loved it! I was really impressed with the combination of technical mastery (from amazingly realistic surfaces to a real impression of bulk and weight to the figures to characterization) with a really good and affecting storyline.
This appears to be the latest improved definition 70mm film but it's possible they did used IMAX cameras and it will look spectacular on a DVD even played on an upscaler (a DVD player that upscales 420p to 1080i and 1080p). There's no lack of detail and creativeness in the CGI drawing, but it's the script and voice-overs that really make it superior. We had cheering at the end in our theater as well -- only other time that's ever happened was "Chicago."
My niece took her two kids and they all loved this movie. Pixar strikes again!
Too much attention was made on the chefs instead of the rats. They should have had more story on Remy's friends and family.
It's already a long movie (1 hr 50 minutes), I don't think they could have done that without negatively impacting the main story.
