I just watched a bio of Paul Newman and on it was a clip from Butch and Sundance.
A line spoken by Butch was "I have clarity of vision, the rest of the world are looking through bi-focals"
In the 1800s?
You amaze me with that info phoenix thanks
My dad used to say I was a mine of completely useless information, he was probably right.
I will add to my collection that No less a luminary than Benjamin Franklin was credited with the invention of bi-focals as long ago as 1784 which to my eternal embarrassment I should have but didn't know
Lovejoy, welcome aboard. We sometimes have threads about antiques. Are you a dealer or a collector, or collector/picker?
Farmerman I'm a retired coal miner that dabbles in the buying and selling of antiques. It's great fun and now and again I make a whopping profit (very rare) and it makes up for the whopping losses, which arn't so rare
It's just enjoyable thats all
In my youth, I always wanted to be an auctioneer.
