Rent a movie called "High Tension." The whole thing turns to complete **** at the end because of a horribly ridiculous plot twist, but for about an hour there in the middle, it is the most brutally intense horror movie you'll ever see.

To me, a top film is one I am eager to watch several times or more. I only agree with the experts part of the time. Dr Zhivago put me to sleep, but I watched Titanic more than once. In no particular order, here are some of my favorites:

Midnight Cowboy
M*A*S*H*
Grapes of Wrath
Treasure of the Sierra Madre
Good Bad and Ugly
The Searchers
High Noon
The Gunfighter
Lord of the Flies
Marat/Sade
Gone With the Wind
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
My Fair Lady
Christmas Carol (British 1950s version)
Day the Earth Stood Still
Carousel
The Graduate
Ulysses (1960s film)
Fritz the Cat
Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf
Ben Hur

There are more, but off the top of my head -

An HBO mini-series, not a movie.

That's the one, except the chainsaw is only one of the weapons used.

Long movie. Very Happy

It's something that would be moved to TV if a discussion were started in film.
Really, I'm not scolding you.
