What was the recent - I think - pronouncement by Pope Benedict concerning Limbo and the souls of dead infants?
"Every limbo boy and girl
All around the limbo world
Gonna do the limbo rock
All around the limbo clock
Jack be limbo, Jack be quick
Jack go unda limbo stick
All around the limbo clock
Hey, let's do the limbo rock
Limbo lower now
Limbo lower now
How low can you go
First you spread your limbo feet
Then you move to limbo beat
Limbo ankolimboneee,
Bend back like a limbo tree
Jack be limbo, Jack be quick
Jack go unda limbo stick
All around the limbo clock
Hey, let's do the limbo rock
la la la etc (instead of instrumental break)
Get yourself a limbo girl
Give that chic a limbo whirl
There's a limbo moon above
You will fall in limbo love
Jack be limbo, Jack be quick
Jack go unda limbo stick
All around the limbo clock
Hey, let's do the limbo rock
Don't move that limbo bar
You'll be a limbo star
How low can you go "
But I think he plagiarized
Gotta love that Limbo music!
Limbo
Wrong Limbo... (don't know if they dance there...)
Limbo
So where does he say they go?
Well, when you're dead, you're dead.
Limbo
Assuming that there's an afterlife, the abandonment of Limbo by the Catholic Church leaves unbaptized infants exactly where?
Of course you're entitled to believe that when you're dead, you're dead, but in that case a discussion of Limbo is probably not of very great interest to you.
Actually, I thought the Church had abandoned the theory of Limbo, and pointed unbaptized infants directly to Heaven,

"Our conclusion is that the many factors that we have considered ... give serious theological and liturgical grounds for hope that unbaptised infants who die will be saved and enjoy the beatific vision (of God)," the document said, according to Catholic News Service which is part of the US Catholic Bishops Conference.
Limbo
I thought that had been decided years ago.
If these little kids don't go to limbo, where do they go?

THEY GO TO HEAVEN! Cripes, read the article that I linked.
i assume that as God is all-knowing he could have seen into the childrens future and found out whether they would have believed or not.
then again, would he have given them a future knowing that they were gonna get killed.
probably depends on whether the kids were old enough to make an informed decision for themselves.
From that link Joe posted:
Quote:The thumbs-down verdict on limbo had been expected for years and the document, called "The Hope of Salvation for Infants Who Die Without Being Baptised," was seen as most likely to be final since limbo was never formally part of Church doctrine.
Hmm... if it was never part of the church doctrine, then why did they introduce it at all? Because they needed something to scare parents into baptizing their kids?
Who are these people? And why do they get away with pushing their delusions on the whole world?

limbo is not scriptural...babies who die go to heaven.

I guess the Baal worshippers who sacrificed their babies must have been right, eh? Why did God destroy them, I wonder.
i'm not suprised you object to this view since russell taught against it.

Perhaps that is because the doctrine of the immortal soul is unscriptural.
so Christ was lying when he said we will receive everlasting life, or when he said he was going to his father's house to prepare rooms for us, or when he told the thief on the cross TODAY you will be with me in paradise??? I don't think so neo. sorry but we wont agree on this because I choose to follow teachings that are 2000 yrs old and you choose those that aren't even 200 yrs old.
