Norway; (fairly) hot summers and cold winters. The (occasional) heat in the summer is a result of the gulf stream. The cold winters is caused by the latitude.
Hot is a relative term.
Norway would be the same climate as Siberia if it wasn't for the gulf stream. There would be frost all year round.
Instead, this very day sees temperatures approaching 80 degrees fahrenheit in the shade some places I've been. That's not common, but it does happen more often lately than I recall from earlier years..
And Seattle is warmer than Boston in the winter because of the pineapple express. Still, we almost never hit 90 and have only one day of 100 in recent memory, while Boston cooks in the summer. Of course, the gulf stream passes them as well.
