This, essentially, is also how Cortéz conquered the Aztecs in Mexico, with the alliance of the surrounding tribes who were subjugated by the Aztecs.

Also true. Actually almost totally omitted from the film "Captain from Castile." Apparently Caesar Romero is all that was needed to conquer the Aztecs, proving ultimately, that you can't stop a big queen.
