legal responsibility

My 17 year old son who had been living with his mom had moved in with me. His uncle on his moms side called while I was at work and told him he would get him stoned if he came in town and worked on his computer.
My son took an uninsured truck into town and when he couldn't figure out what was wrong with the computer his uncle slammed him around and told him to get the f--- out of there. Scared and stoned he tried to get away and backed the truck into his uncles p.o.s. car
I realize the insurance was my responsibility and it wasn't insured because it never went anywhere other than directly across the road into the woods for firewood.
Basically I am wondering why if its the bars fault if someone leaves the bar drunk and wrecks why isn't it his uncles fault for getting him stoned?

Depending on where you live it may very well be.

But if you want to CYA in case he tries to sue you I'd suggest you file a complaint with the Police Dept wherever this accident happened and get your child to fill out a report as well.

A judge isn't likely to look kindly upon someone that sues for damages when their own actions contributed to the deliquency of a minor and they allowed a 17 year old that they just got high to operate a motor vehicle. You may very well still end up paying but you'll be in a much better position with paperwork on your side.

Credit Report
How do I report a Negative Credit on someone that owes me money besides going to a collection.

Welcome to A2K.

You'll have better luck getting an answer to your question if you most a new thread instead of piggy-backing on an old one.
