@vonny,
Coffee, black, 1/2 tsp sugar

I'm about to have half a toasted mixed grain roll with some brie on it.

@ehBeth,
Cold glass of Meridian chardonnay - a winery we went to, oh, twenty five years ago, where we were the only visitors and they showed us all around. That whole area of central California, which has somewhat coastal influence at the same time, is plain old gorgeous. We spent a bunch of days nosing around from Santa Barbara up to the land around Paso Robles and a little further... small towns, continuous beauty. Now drought is going on.

There is almost irony that the salty (etc.) ocean isn't all that far.

@vonny,
That sounds good - I'd never heard of them.

Diane and I went out to play today - first to the goodwill shop (big improvement there, reminding me I've long wanted to start/own/run a thrift shop, maybe in my next life) and then to lunch at the new italo place. Uh, not as good this second visit. I gave them the meatball test, and my decision was No. But hey, we both liked the waiter.

Presently drinking Apollonaris mineral water, w/lemon slice squeezed.

On the goodwill shop, I bought two books and five clothing items, a few of them sort of slinky. I'll have to be careful wearing the slinkies or I'll scare people.

@vonny,
ugh!

Me, I had leftovers for mid day. Wonderful wonderful leftovers.

Yesterday, Diane and I went to our preferred by far (we've worked this out) italian restaurant in this city.

I'll link the menu. We've found the food really good, but also like the people who own it and work in it. In contrast to another ital place that rattled both of us with elevator music noise and staff that tended to run even when they weren't that busy (that's not italian, sounds like the manager'a great idea); every time we go to Nicky V's we have a good time.

We both ordered the Orvietto, a misspelling. I should tell them, but that doesn't matter, and they probably know that by now. Lots of misspells on the menu but not goofs in the kitchen. The doggy pouch leftovers were almost as good today.

On their spelling, I may need to take them by the hand..
